A beautifully designed collectible teapot!
Measures just under 20" tall roughly (closed).
A.N. 715 INDIA stamped on bottom.
This stunningly etched teapot is in nice overall condition for it's vintage age. Made of etched silver tone metal (possibly silver plated) with hand painted black enamel floral pattern design. The silver etched sections are outlined in a thin gold tone overlay. The hinged top opens and closes nicely. The teapot sits flat, quite durable and has held up well over the years. The etched floral design can be found from the top to the bottom of the teapot and even on the long gooseneck spout. The pour section at the end of the spout is either a swan, goose or duck's head/beak which is quite rare to find. The handle is attached well and is sturdy.There are sections of the black enamel that has worn off. Near the handle's top- by the thumb rest, some of the silver tone metal has worn down to the base metal that has a bronze/copper tone. Rough edges can be found inside the bird's beak/spout end. Some normal scratches, scuffs and blemishes from age, previous display and collecting.
