ORIGINAL 17th Century Prisoners / Convicts leg iron mounted on original board
with marked plate. " River Thames, Tower Beach Convicts leg Irons, 17th
Century, found 1938. Probably from the Tower of London. The leg iron originally
fitted to a prisoners ankle is still locked indicating the possibility of the
prisoner drowning.
