Dog sculpture object by a well known Japanese Metal artist Saegusa
Soutarou.
Born is 1911 in Kagawa prefecture he became a recognized sculptor in his early
age and participated in numerous prestigiuos shows , where he won a number of
awards. His works are collected by museums and also displayed as monuments in
major cities of Japan. A big enthusiast of art , Saegusa is known for a variety
of themes and postures , reflecting traditional japanese culture with addition
of some abstract elements. His works are highly revered for its artistic
beauty. After his retirment from a post of professor in the Nagoya University
of Arts,he created numerous large scale bronze monuments and sculptures. Even
in his 90s ,he continued creating beautiful art pieces.
