Antique Liquid Carbonic Acid Mfg Co. Soda Fountain Handle c1900
The Liquid Carbonic Company was founded in 1888 by Jacob Baur, and was
originally called the Liquid Carbonic Acid Manufacturing Company. The “Liquid
Carbonic” Company came into distinction within the soda fountain manufacturing
because it offered the fountain owners a way to produce their own carbonated
water. Around 1900 they decided to go into soda fountains themselves, and by
1909 the “Liquid Carbonic” Company claimed that they were the “world’s largest
builders of soda fountains”.
This large soda fountain handle is cast brass with a wooden grip and measures
11" long. The backplate has "Liquid Carbonic Acid Mfg. Co." and "Chicago, IL"
embossed on the cast brass plate. It measures 1 7/8" by 7 1/2". Very
collectible piece of Americana.
